Portfolio
Overview of portfolio tracking — holdings, transactions, watchlists, and allocation.
The Portfolio section (/portfolio) combines brokerage-synced positions with your manually maintained watchlists. It gives you a single view of what you own, what you are watching, and how your capital is deployed across sectors.
Portfolio tabs
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Holdings | Live brokerage positions with unrealized P&L |
| Transactions | Historical trade log with FIFO realized P&L |
| Watchlists | Named lists of instruments you follow |
| Allocation | Sector treemap and exposure breakdown |
Data sources
Portfolio data comes from two places:
- Brokerage sync (SnapTrade) — real positions, quantities, cost basis, and transaction history imported from your connected broker. Requires a brokerage connection. See Connect a Brokerage.
- Watchlists — manually managed lists. No brokerage connection required.
No brokerage connected
If you have not connected a brokerage, the Holdings and Transactions tabs show an empty state with a prompt to connect. Watchlists and Allocation (watchlist-based) still work fully.
Portfolio metrics
The portfolio header shows aggregate metrics:
- Total Value — sum of all position market values at last price
- Daily P&L ($) — unrealized gain/loss for today
- Daily P&L (%) — daily P&L as a percentage of total portfolio value
- Total Unrealized P&L — cumulative open gain/loss across all positions
- Day's NAV change — portfolio-level net asset value change vs. prior close
Morning brief integration
When you ask the AI assistant a portfolio-scoped question (e.g. "What should I watch in my portfolio this week?"), it queries your current holdings and combines them with live news context. The morning brief also references your holdings in its watchlist commentary section.
