Connect a Brokerage
Sync your TastyTrade positions to track P&L alongside your research.
Worldview integrates with real brokerage accounts via SnapTrade, a read-only aggregation layer. Your positions appear in the Portfolio section and the morning brief can reference your actual holdings when answering research questions.
Supported brokers
Currently supported through SnapTrade:
- TastyTrade — equity and options positions
- More brokers coming via SnapTrade's growing catalog
Read-only access only
Worldview requests a read-only OAuth token. It cannot place orders, cancel trades, transfer funds, or modify your brokerage account in any way. The SnapTrade connection is scoped to position and transaction data only.
Connect TastyTrade
Open Settings
Click the gear icon in the top-right of the TopBar, or navigate to /settings.
Go to Brokerage
Select Brokerage from the Settings sidebar.
Click Connect TastyTrade
Click the Connect TastyTrade button. You are redirected to SnapTrade's connection portal.
Authenticate with TastyTrade
Enter your TastyTrade credentials in SnapTrade's secure portal. Worldview never sees your brokerage password.
Authorize read-only scope
SnapTrade asks you to approve read-only access. Confirm the scope and click Authorize.
Return to Worldview
You are redirected back to Settings. Worldview begins syncing your positions — the first sync takes up to 30 seconds.
What syncs
After connection, Worldview imports:
| Data type | Update frequency |
|---|---|
| Current positions (holdings) | Every 5 minutes |
| Transaction history | On first sync + daily |
| Account balances | Every 5 minutes |
Historical transactions
Worldview imports up to 12 months of transaction history on the first sync. FIFO realized P&L is calculated from this history. Older transactions show as "position established before sync date."
Disconnect a brokerage
Navigate to Settings → Brokerage and click Disconnect. Worldview deletes the SnapTrade token and removes synced position data. Transaction history is retained for accounting purposes unless you explicitly delete your account.
Troubleshooting
Positions not appearing after 2 minutes — The initial sync may be delayed. Refresh the Portfolio page. If the issue persists, disconnect and reconnect.
Authorization failed — Your TastyTrade password may have changed since connecting. Disconnect and reconnect with your current credentials.
Missing instruments — Worldview requires EODHD market data coverage for an instrument to appear in Portfolio. Most US equities and ETFs are covered; options positions show the underlying instrument.
